NMPASI OVERVIEW

Northern Marianas Protection & Advocacy Systems, Inc (NMPASI) is a non-profit organization and was established in 1993 as the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) designated disability law center.

Our mission is “to protect the civil, legal, and human interests of persons with disabilities”.

Our primary function is to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities through legally-based advocacy or representation/support.

NMPASI is a federal interagency project of the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration/Center for Mental Health Services (SAMHSA/CMHS), the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), the Social Security Administration (SSA), and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

NMPASI receives its funding from the United States (US) Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the US Department of Education (DOE) and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
