The mission of ADD is to provide grants in every State and Territory, which then, through three types of activities.– advocacy, capacity building, and systems change – grantees assist individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages to achieve independence, be included, and contribute to the full range of community life.
ADD’s motto is “the American dream belongs to everyone.”

Tri-Agency Purpose
 To learn about collaborative efforts across the three grantees
To determine the extent of compliance with the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (hereafter referred to as “the DD Act”)
To identify strengths of each grantee
To identify technical assistance needs of each grantee
